After several days of making public, the emerged Chairmanship and councillorship of the People’s Democratic Party for the state local government election in Oyo state, a councilorship aspirant, Hon. Hamisu Nafiu Dodo, took his time to narrate how some party leaders due to their selfish interests favor the Ward councilorship ticket for their loyalists.
Dodo, who is the present Ward VI councilor in the Ibadan North area local government said, himself and other aspirants with the most recognized party leaders were sidelined during the process of the supposed primary to produce a candidate.
Bowamedia.com had earlier published the names of candidates released by Ambassador Arapaja led committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state ahead of the forthcoming local government election.
While discussing with our correspondent at his Sabo residence on Saturday, Dodo expressed his dissatisfaction and thereafter called on the local government party chairman, executives, and state Working Committee to exercise their duties concerning his claims about the party leaders and process that produced the emerged candidate.
He said, aside gone for illegal selection, Dodo explained the process was led by a leader who is not from Ward VI of the local government and revealed that the action has created an unresolved crisis among the recognized party leaders, members in the Ward VI political ward of Ibadan North local government.

We all know that the hallmark of internal democracy is that candidates should emerge from the process approved by the constitution of the party and the electoral law of our country so also the guidelines given by the overall leader of the party in the state.
Anything outside of what I stated suggests that there has been some imposition, and it is abnormal and does not create room for democracy to mature.
” What some set of leaders did in Ward XI of Ibadan local government was that they gathered those of them with an unsuitable motive for a meeting, without the awareness of others with good minds and the concerned aspirants, all that came after was released of their selected candidate.
Dodo in his statement explained that figures were allowed for aspirants when all main party leaders, members, and loyalists of the party knew that, no primary election was held for the Ward XI councillorship seat for PDP.
The counselor claimed the exercise made by the said PDP was a mockery of the Ward Leaders, Oyo PDP, and party members.
Dodo said, “No sincere party leaders, members, loyalists were happy with the outturn of last two weeks events that were organized by some selfish PDP leaders of Ward VI in Ibadan North”, he said, the said leaders were not sure of their aspirant popularity and knew they will lose woefully if the primary election is conducted among the councillorship aspirants so they decide to produce their stooge through back door.
Recognized party leaders in our Ward, such as; Alhaji Danjuma, Alhaji Danladi Jagaban, Alhaj Sani Mustapha, Alhaji Yahya Dauda, Alhaj Kabiru Sardauna, Alhaji Abdullahi Sani, Hon. Abubakar Garba, Hon.Hassan DanMusa, Hon. Sulaiman Atiku, Hon.Muntari Inka and other major stakeholders of the party were all left out during their inhuman selection process.
