One-Day Rep: Oyekunle Closes Applications, Next Stage to Be Announced

The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), has formally closed applications for the One-Day Representative Programme, an initiative facilitated and sponsored by the federal lawmaker to provide constituents with practical exposure to legislative duties.

The application window, which was opened a month ago, was targeted at eligible indigenes of Ibadan North Federal Constituency who are above 25 years of age and registered voters in the constituency.
According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the lawmaker’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Akinwale Bodija, the successful winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of ₦1 million, while the first and second runners-up will receive ₦500,000 and ₦250,000, respectively.

The statement added that, beyond the cash prize, the overall winner will also enjoy a fully sponsored trip to the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, where the winner will have the opportunity to experience legislative proceedings firsthand and occupy the office of the lawmaker for one day.

The initiative, according to the statement, is designed to deepen civic awareness and give constituents a practical understanding of the workings of the National Assembly and the responsibilities of an elected representative.
Bodija further stated that details regarding the next stage of the competition, including the screening process and subsequent arrangements for the shortlisted applicants, would be communicated to the public in further official statements.
The formal closure of applications marks the next phase of the programme as organisers proceed with the evaluation and selection process.
