World Teachers’ Day: Sanda Salutes Egbeda Teachers, Celebrates Their Role in Building Future Generations

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has extended warm felicitations and commendation to teachers across Egbeda Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.

 

Sanda, in a goodwill message marking the annual celebration, described teachers as indispensable builders of society whose dedication, patience and commitment continue to shape the lives of millions of young people.

 

He acknowledged the sacrifices made by teachers in carrying out their responsibilities, noting that their contributions extend beyond the classroom to the moral, intellectual and social development of students.

 

According to him, every successful professional, leader and responsible citizen has, at one point or another, benefited from the knowledge, guidance and discipline imparted by a teacher.

 

The Egbeda Local Government Chairman therefore commended teachers in the local government for their continued commitment to educating and nurturing the younger generation, despite the various challenges confronting the profession.

 

He said the occasion provides an opportunity for society to recognise and appreciate the important role teachers play in laying the foundation for a better and more prosperous future.

 

Sanda also called for continued support and encouragement for teachers, stressing the need for stakeholders at all levels to create an enabling environment that allows educators to perform their duties effectively.

 

He further assured teachers in Egbeda Local Government of his administration’s continued commitment to supporting initiatives that promote quality education and improve the welfare and working conditions of educators within the local government.

 

The Chairman congratulated all teachers on the celebration, urging them to remain steadfast in their noble profession and continue to inspire, educate and positively influence the next generation.

 

He said: “Today, we celebrate the dedication, sacrifices and invaluable contributions of our teachers. Your commitment to shaping minds, building character and preparing future generations cannot be overemphasised. We appreciate you, we celebrate you, and we thank you for the remarkable work you continue to do.”
