Oyo State Deputy Majority Leader and Member representing Egbeda State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola, popularly known as Sunky, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to the safety of residents following the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The victims, who regained their freedom on Friday after weeks in captivity, were rescued through a coordinated intelligence-led operation involving the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.

Reacting to the development in a statement, Hon. Babalola expressed gratitude to Almighty God for preserving the lives of the victims and ensuring their safe reunion with their families.

He described the successful operation as a testament to Governor Makinde’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Oyo State, noting that the governor remained steadfast in supporting security efforts throughout the period of the victims’ captivity.

The lawmaker also applauded the professionalism, resilience and dedication displayed by the Nigerian Army and other security agencies involved in the rescue operation, saying their coordinated efforts prevented further tragedy and restored hope to the affected families.

According to him, the successful rescue reinforces public confidence in the state’s security architecture and demonstrates what can be achieved through collaboration between the government and security agencies.

He prayed that such incidents would not recur in Oyo State and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting every initiative aimed at strengthening peace, security and the welfare of the people.

The Deputy Majority Leader concluded by congratulating Governor Makinde, the security agencies, the rescued pupils and teachers, as well as their families, describing their safe return as a victory for the entire state.
