LG POLL: Boost For Oluyole PDP As Community, Landlords Endorse Akeem Olatunji’s Candidature
The chances of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) winning the forthcoming 2024 local government election in Oluyole received a major boost on Saturday, October 21 as the Sanyo-Agbamu community in Oluyole adopted Akeem Olatunji as its preferred candidate for the Chairmanship seat.
Similarly, Sanyo-Agbamu Landlord Association also threw its weight behind the former PDP Spokesman in Oyo state ahead of the scheduled council poll slated for April 2024.
According to Baale Sanyo-Agbamu, Chief Mustapha Bello, the community’s overwhelming endorsement of Akeem Olatunji as the preferred candidate for the local government chairmanship is a result of his exceptional leadership abilities, commitment to public service, and proven track record of positive impact at the grassroots.
“As a dedicated community leader with years of experience serving various grassroots organizations, Olatunji has consistently demonstrated an unwavering passion for improving our community’s socio-economic conditions.
“His strategic vision and ability to foster collaborative relationships, especially within our communities have resulted in successful initiatives that address pressing issues such as facilitation of job opportunities and youth empowerment.
“The community recognizes Olatunji’s remarkable ability to listen carefully to constituents’ concerns and implement effective policies accordingly as exemplified when he held office as the Oyo state P.R.O of PDP.
“His transparent decision-making process and willingness to engage with residents at all levels have earned him widespread trust and respect. With Akeem Olatunji as our local government chairman, we can be confident that our community will continue to thrive under principled leadership focused on sustainable growth and equitable progress.” Baale Sanyo-Agbamu, Chief Mustapha said.
Earlier in his remark, Alhaji Olaide Adeoye, who spoke on behalf of the Sanyo-Agbamu Landlord Association Association described Olatunji as a man with verifiable origin and a true son of the soil who can be called to order in the event of wrongdoing.
He said the community was proud of Olatunji’s political achievements having represented Oluyole well in various capacities of leadership entrusted to him in politics stressing that Olatunji’s liberal approach to life and leadership about his friendliness and accessibility have endeared him to members of the Association.
He vowed that the Association would work assiduously for the victory of Olatunji as the next Executive Chairman of Oluyole local government at the 2024 Council poll.
In his brief remarks, Olatunji, overwhelmed with joy expressed gratitude to the community and landlord association for their trust and confidence in him assuring that he would prioritize community development and human capital empowerment to bolster the local economy in Oluyole if elected as the Executive Chairman come 2024.
Olatunji who lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for leading with practical examples said, that nobody with the party’s mandate under the new wave of political progressivism would have any excuse for failure if elected.
He added that he had always been committed to community development while also facilitating job opportunities to youths and members of the community even before he ventured into active politics assuring that with the political skills and knowledge being acquired under what he called Makinde’s discipleship, he was bound to replicate the success at the state level in Oluyole local government.
