It was an epochal carnival-like Eid-el Kabir celebration on Sunday (today) as top government officials, political bigwigs, PDP chieftains, and other party loyalists in Oyo state stormed the private residence of Akeem Olatunji in the Sanyo area of Ibadan to celebrate this year’s Sallah.
Some of the top state government functionaries who were present at Olatunji’s residence for the Eid-el Kabir celebration include the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Pastor Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast Media, Mrs. Bosede Sodiq, the Chairman Oyo state Park Management System (PMS) Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa and the entire state executives of the Agency.
Former Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS) to the Governor and 2023 PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Honourable Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola popularly called ‘Jagaban’, Oluyole local government secretary, Hon. Azeez Babalola, Oluyole LG Vice Chairman, Political Head, and Administrator of Akorede LCDA, Hon. Tunde Ayoade and Local Government Councilors.
Others are the Oluyole PDP Chairman, Alhaji Mukaila Adgbola, Ibadan North Chairmanship Aspirant and former Personal Assistant to former Chief of Staff to Governor Makinde, Prince Falana Adebowale and other PDP stalwarts including Abiodun Adeniji otherwise called Bashorun Saint Abbey, Oluyole women wing of PDP and other party loyalists.
Earlier, Olatunji told journalists present to witness the celebration that 2023 was a very special and unique year that called for celebration considering what Nigerians endured in the last eight years under the immediate past federal government stressing that many lives were lost to the struggle in the hope for a better tomorrow.
He added that 2023 is an electioneering year that also arrived with a mix of political issues from the camp of politicians in the opposition geared towards dividing the very peaceful Oyo state into another war theatre on account of religion before the general elections noting that it was God’s ‘Solomonic’ wisdom bestowed on governor Seyi Makinde that helped the state surmounted the period as the move by politicians poised a great threat to the age-long peaceful among all religions and ethnicities in the state.
Olatunji prayed to God to envelop Governor Makinde in divine wisdom to continue to know how to administer the affairs of the state while winning more pessimists to his side with great sector-by-sector achievements.
While expressing appreciation to his guests who thronged his private residence for the 2023 Eid-el Kabir celebration, Olatunji said he felt humbled and very honored to host such great personalities in his home. He solicited more support and cooperation to help Governor Makinde achieve more success under Omititun 2.0 tagged Sustainable Development.
