Ibadan North LG Hosts Under-18 Football Competition, Olufade Performs Ceremonial Kick-Off

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has officially kicked off the highly anticipated Under-18 football competition.

The opening ceremony, held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, was graced by notable figures, including the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), Oyo state Pdp youth leader and Acting publicity secretary, hon ogunsina Michael ogunsina, Ibadan North Local Government Chief of Staff, Hamdy Mustapha, hon. Joshua oladapo and Special Adviser to the chairman on education, Oloye Ademola Titilopemi Ajibola, who joined Hon. Olufade in exercising the ceremonial kick-off.

 

The competition, which features 16 football teams vying for the championship title, promises to be a thrilling showcase of young talent from Ibadan North Local Government.

 

Monumental Legacy

The opening match, held at the University College Hospital (UCH) football field, saw UNITED STAR FC face off against ADEX FC, setting the tone for an exciting and competitive tournament.

Adeagbo Sulaimon Olayode, the Chairman of the organizing committee, expressed enthusiasm about the event.

Updates on the competition will be available on Lagelu 96.6 FM and Fresh FM 105.9 at 7 AM daily, ensuring that the community stays informed and engaged throughout the tournament.

The Under-18 football competition is a significant initiative by Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, aimed at promoting youth engagement in sports and fostering a sense of community among residents.
