Oyo 2027: APM Guber Candidate Adekanmbi Pays Thank-You Visit To Makinde Ally Olayemi, Pledges Unity For Coalition Victory

The 2027 governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement, APM, in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, on Saturday evening paid a thank-you visit to Hon. Busari Olayemi, Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Intra-Party Affairs, at his office in Osuntokun Avenue, Ibadan.

The visit was to personally thank Hon. Olayemi and acknowledge the critical role he played in Hon. Adekanmbi’s emergence as the APM consensus governorship candidate. Political leaders at the meeting described it as a demonstration of gratitude, loyalty, and coalition discipline ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Adekanmbi said the visit was both a mark of respect and an opportunity to reaffirm commitment to the PDP-APM coalition’s agenda of sustaining Governor Makinde’s developmental strides under _Omituntun 3.0_.

“I am here today to thank my brother and leader, Hon. Busari Olayemi,” Hon. Adekanmbi stated. “He stood firmly for fairness and consensus, and his leadership made it possible for stakeholders to unite behind me. We have walked this political journey together for years, politics apart. He is a straightforward man and a true loyalist of Governor Seyi Makinde and our great party.”

Hon. Adekanmbi also addressed members of Hon. Olayemi’s political family present at the meeting, urging them to remain calm and confident in the process.

“I want to assure everyone here that with Hon. Olayemi, you will not have any problem,” he said. “His word is his bond, and under his guidance, our coalition will remain united, focused, and victorious.”

The APM candidate expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde, party leaders, stakeholders, and fellow aspirants for conceding to the consensus arrangement. He pledged to work tirelessly for the victory of Governor Makinde’s presidential ambition and for all National Assembly candidates under the coalition.

“Oyo State deserves continuity, and with your support, the APM will deliver,” Adekanmbi added.

Responding, Hon. Busari Olayemi, popularly known as _Kobomoje_, welcomed the gesture and described it as a sign of political maturity and respect for party structure.

“I am happy to receive my brother, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi,” Hon. Olayemi said. “This coalition is about the people of Oyo State. We are committed to ensuring that the developmental template established by Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, continues uninterrupted. I will mobilize every structure within my reach to work for Hon. Adekanmbi’s victory as governor and for Governor Seyi Makinde as President in 2027.”

Hon. Olayemi called on party faithful to prioritize issue-based politics and avoid distractions that could weaken the coalition’s unity and focus.

Dignitaries present also congratulated Hon. Adekanmbi and pledged total support. Hon. Tosin Alabi, former Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency aspirant, described the candidate as consistent and grounded in grassroots politics.

“Hon. Adekanmbi understands the people and their needs,” Alabi said. “With this unity, Oyo State will remain on the path of progress.”

Hon. Dokun Adeyemo, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Industry and Cooperatives, assured the candidate of backing from the industrial and cooperative sectors.

Other attendees who pledged support included Hon. Arowolo Kolawole, two-term Councilor for Ward 9, Egbeda LGA; Hon. Olalere Sekinat Abolore, Supervisor for Transport, Ona-Ara LGA; Hon. Adesina Adebayo; Hon. Sanni Wasiu; and other party stalwarts.

The meeting ended with a renewed call for grassroots mobilization across Oyo State’s five zones. Leaders expressed confidence that the PDP-APM coalition would deliver a decisive victory in 2027 with Governor Makinde leading nationally and Adekanmbi leading in Oyo State.
