Lagelu Chairman, Hon. Kamorudeen Extends Food, Cash Support to Over 200 PWDs

In a significant move for social welfare, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has extended food and cash support to a record number of over 200 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the council area.

The initiative, which aims to ease the burden on vulnerable members of the community and affirm their dignity, saw beneficiaries receive essential food items and cash assistance.
Speaking on the support program, the Chairman described the beneficiaries as his own family, emphasizing the philosophy behind the intervention.

“We see them not as mere beneficiaries, but as our own family – our brothers and sisters,” he said. “It is that fundamental belief – I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper – that drives our actions and makes the Lagelu community work.”
He added that his administration remains committed to removing barriers, restoring dignity, and expanding opportunities so that every resident, regardless of ability, can harness their God-given potential.

The Chairman specially commended his Vice, Hon. Sadiq Olayinka, who represented him during the programme while he was away on other official assignments. He also expressed appreciation to the Legislative Arm, Traditional Rulers, Community Development Council, PCRC, the League of Imams and Alfas, CAN, NCWS, and other critical stakeholders for their support and cooperation.
