Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, recently confirmed as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, officially resumed duty today. He was warmly welcomed by hon. Ademola Ojo, commissioner for local government and chieftancy matters, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, Oyo ALGON chairman, Deacon Taiwo Olafimihan, the commission’s Permanent Secretary, Zonal permanent secretaries, Directors, staff members, and prominent state political figures at the Local government building, Oyo state Secretariat.

The welcoming ceremony was marked by prayers for a successful tenure, with attendees expressing optimism about the positive impact Akinwole’s leadership would have on the Commission and local government staff across the state.

Akinwole’s appointment was confirmed alongside, Mr. Yusuf Ali Akinkunmi (full-time member), Alhaji Oke Hakeem Taiwo (full-time member), Mrs. Nike Arewa (part-time member by the Oyo State House of Assembly on May 16, 2025, following a screening process.
As Chairman, Akinwole brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. His appointment has been praised by notable figures, including the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, who described the appointment as well-deserved and urged Akinwole to distinguish himself in his new position.
Akinwole’s resumption marks a new chapter in the Commission’s history, with expectations high for his leadership and vision to shape the future of local government service in Oyo State.
