From Prayer to Heartbreak: Kehinde Adegbodu Narrates Twin Brother’s Sudden Death

Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu of the famous Yoruba gospel duo, Adegbodu Twins, has shared the heartbreaking story of his twin brother Taiwo’s sudden passing, a week after the tragedy.

Kehinde, who announced Taiwo’s death on Sunday, March 1, 2026, told visitors at their Ibadan residence that Taiwo was never ill. According to him, Taiwo died from a heart attack just minutes after complaining of chest pain, despite being cheerful and energetic earlier that evening.

Recalling their last moments together, Kehinde said they had prayed at 9 pm as usual, before he went to remind Taiwo about the next day’s church service. Taiwo was playing games on his phone and mentioned he would sleep early.

“At about 10:55 pm, he knocked on my door, complaining of a sharp chest pain. I immediately suggested we go to the hospital nearby,” Kehinde narrated. Tragically, Taiwo did not return from the hospital visit.

The Adegbodu Twins rose to fame in the Yoruba gospel scene with their 1999 debut album, Faratimi (Lean on Me), and have since released several hits including Emi Mimo, Ma Beru, Adura Mi Gba, and Shower Your Blessing. Known for their harmonious style and devotion to spreading the Christian message, the duo has left an enduring mark on gospel music.
