“On this special occasion of Eid el-Kabir, I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in Oyo State and across Nigeria. The festival of sacrifice reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s absolute submission to the will of Allah and the importance of faith, devotion, and unity in our daily lives,” the statement read.

He urged Muslims to emulate the spirit of sacrifice by showing love and extending support to the less privileged, especially during this challenging economic period.

Hon. Oyekunle also called on Nigerians to use the period to pray for continued peace, security, and prosperity of the state and the nation at large. He reiterated the commitment of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration to promoting religious harmony, inclusive governance, and sustainable development.

“As we celebrate, let us remember the essence of this festival: love, sacrifice, and humility. Let us also not forget to pray fervently for our dear state and our nation. It is our collective responsibility to build a better future, and it begins with peace, mutual respect, and unity among all religious and ethnic groups.”

He further thanked religious leaders for their steady contributions to peacebuilding and moral guidance and encouraged them to continue supporting the government’s efforts to move the state forward.
