Egbeda PDP Holds Peaceful Congress, Elects New Executives Amid Unity and Strengthening Party Structure

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State has successfully elected new executives to oversee the affairs of the party at the grassroots level, following a peaceful and well-attended local government congress held on Saturday.

The congress, which party leaders described as a milestone in consolidating unity and progress, took place at the SDP and was conducted under a peaceful atmosphere. Hon. Busari Olayemi officially announced the new executives in the presence of top PDP stakeholders, including the Executive Chairman of Egbeda LGA, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele; Deputy Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola; Commissioner for Land, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akin-Funmilayo Williams; and Chief (Mrs.) Olajumoke Lawal (popularly known as *Iya Pineapple*), among others.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected PDP Chairman for Egbeda LGA, Chief Ebenezer Olawale Alawe, expressed deep appreciation to the party leaders and members for the trust reposed in him. He pledged loyalty to the party’s ideals while assuring members of his commitment to unity, party growth, and electoral success.

Egbeda Council Chairman, Hon. Sanda Sikiru, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership in strengthening the PDP structure across the state. He emphasized the significance of the congress, describing it as a reflection of the party’s growing unity. *“The new executives have a vital role to play in consolidating this strength and ensuring that the PDP remains a formidable force in Egbeda,” he said.

The event was widely lauded by attendees as a peaceful and remarkable exercise, reinforcing the PDP’s cohesion and readiness for future political engagements in Oyo State, also observed by Inec, state party officials, Oysiec and security parastals.
