Coronation: Hon Akintayo Extols New Olubadan, Pledges Support for Cultural Heritage and Development
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Iwo-Road, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo (aka O mu Yes), has felicitated with the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin, on the occasion of his receipt of the Staff of Office from the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Oluseyi Makinde.
In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, Hon Akintayo described the coronation as a significant milestone in the history of Ibadanland, marking the beginning of a new era of peace, progress, and cultural rejuvenation.
Hon Akintayo specially appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Oluseyi Makinde, for his unwavering support and commitment to upholding the traditional institution, saying: “The Governor’s leadership and vision for Ibadanland are exemplary, and we are grateful for his role in ensuring a smooth coronation process.”
The Chairman also expressed his appreciation to the kingmakers, traditional council, traditional rulers, Sons and daughters of Ibadanland, the coronation planning committee, security agencies, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the event. He praised their efforts and dedication to the cultural heritage of Ibadanland, saying: “The collective efforts of all stakeholders have made this day a reality, and we are grateful for their support and goodwill.”
Hon Akintayo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the new Olubadan in promoting the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland, stating, “We are ready to work with the new Olubadan to preserve our traditions, promote our cultural values, and enhance the socioeconomic development of our beloved city.”
The Chairman praised Oba Olakuleyin as a worthy successor to the throne, noting his wealth of experience, wisdom, and dedication to the service of Ibadanland. He expressed confidence in the new Olubadan’s ability to lead the city to greater heights, foster unity among the people, and attract development to the area.
