APM Oyo Executives Rally Support for Makinde, Adekanmbi, Other Candidates Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Oyo State Executive Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), led by the State Chairman, Otunba Fagbemi Adegbenro, has reaffirmed its commitment to the success of Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition and the emergence of other candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.


The resolution was reached at an exhaustive strategic meeting held by the state executives on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, as the party commenced preparations for the presidential and National Assembly campaign season.
The meeting, which focused on mapping out effective campaign strategies and strengthening the party’s mobilisation structures, resolved to work collectively towards securing victory for all APM candidates at the polls.

The executives unanimously expressed their full support for the candidature of Governor Seyi Makinde for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, pledging to actively participate in and mobilise support for his campaign activities across the country.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to the gubernatorial ticket of the party, declaring their determination to ensure the emergence of Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi and his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, as winners of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
Similarly, the party executives pledged unalloyed support for all APM candidates contesting for the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats, with a commitment to deploy the party’s grassroots structures towards their success.
The meeting also acknowledged the developmental achievements recorded under the administration of Governor Makinde over the past seven years, noting that the administration’s strides had contributed significantly to growth and development across Oyo State.
According to the executives, the visible transformation across various sectors of the state further strengthens their resolve to support the Governor’s presidential ambition and sustain the developmental momentum.
The party also noted that other APM stakeholders and faithful had previously expressed support for the resolutions, describing the growing alignment as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to victory in the 2027 elections.
The State Executive Council urged party members and supporters to remain united, active and focused as the campaign season progresses.
