Among the issues raised were the restoration of transport welfare through Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS)-powered buses, increased access to international training opportunities, and the provision of official vehicles to facilitate the operations of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), particularly those in remote and zonal locations.

The participants also called for improved mobility for general managers and officials of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), as well as the establishment of a recreational centre within the government secretariat to encourage sporting activities, relaxation and improved staff well-being.

Some directors at the meeting recalled Adekanmbi’s previous engagements with the civil service during his tenure as Deputy Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Finance, highlighting his recognition of hard work, appreciation of merit and contributions to the professional development of officers who worked with him.

Reaffirming his commitment to an effective and people-centred public service, Adekanmbi stressed the importance of maintaining regular communication with civil servants to obtain feedback, identify operational bottlenecks and develop practical solutions to challenges affecting government performance.

He noted that sustained engagement with the workforce would remain a key priority, recognising that a motivated, adequately equipped and professionally developed civil service is essential to effective governance and accelerated development in Oyo State.

The engagement underscored the importance of collaboration between leadership and public servants in building a responsive and productive administrative system capable of translating government policies into tangible benefits for residents of the state.
