APM’s Adekanmbi felicitates Nigerians, calls for unity and renewal at 66th independence anniversary

The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence anniversary.

In a statement issued to commemorate the anniversary, he commended Nigerians for their resilience and determination in the face of numerous national challenges, noting that citizens have continued to demonstrate an unwavering belief in the unity and oneness of the country.
Hon. Adekanmbi observed that Nigeria has recorded significant achievements over the past 66 years—achievements that must be jealously guarded and protected despite present difficulties.

He said, “I sincerely appreciate Nigerians for standing firm and believing in the unity of our country, refusing to allow our diversity to hinder our collective resolve to develop the great nation bequeathed to us by our founding fathers.”

He emphasized that the contributions of all segments of the population—youth, elders, men, and women—have sustained the nation’s continued existence. He added that this collective spirit must be nurtured to ensure Nigeria’s return to its rightful place as the giant of Africa.
Acknowledging the economic difficulties Nigerians have faced in recent years due to certain federal policy decisions, he commended citizens for maintaining hope that the country can still be reset for the better.
“The hardship is evident in the rising cost of food, transportation, and other basic necessities. I empathize deeply with Nigerians and affirm that there is hope for a new and better Nigeria,” he said.
Despite these challenges, he urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a nation that both current and future generations can be proud of.
He called on Nigerians to join the movement to reset the country, participate actively and peacefully in the democratic process, and make informed choices based on vision, competence, and values as presented by the Allied People’s Movement.
Hon. Adekanmbi also appealed to the people of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that his projects and programmes are helping the state live up to its name as the Pacesetter State.
He said, “As the nation prepares for another round of elections next year, and in line with the articulated programmes of the APM, I urge the people to support and vote for all candidates of our great party to ensure the sustainability of the development Oyo State has witnessed in the last seven years.”
