Popular Nollywood veteran actor, Taiwo Hassan, fondly known as Ogogo, has reportedly passed away at the age of 66.


The celebrated Yoruba actor reportedly died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after a prolonged battle with cancer.
His death was announced by his daughter, Kira Taiwo, during an Instagram Live session on Sunday.

The development comes just days after members of the actor’s family appealed for urgent medical assistance, disclosing that he was battling stage-four cancer and that his condition had significantly deteriorated.
His daughters, Lima and Kira, had appealed to medical professionals, healthcare institutions and well-meaning Nigerians to assist with their father’s treatment.
Ogogo was one of the prominent figures in the Yoruba movie industry, with a career spanning several decades as an accomplished actor, producer and filmmaker. His contributions to Nollywood earned him widespread recognition and admiration among colleagues and movie lovers.
