Just In: Hon. Olasupo Adams Dismisses PDP Ibadan North 11 Endorsement Claims, Calls for Due Process

Ajadi for Governor

A leading aspirant for the Ibadan North State Constituency II seat, Hon. Olasupo Adams, has firmly debunked reports suggesting that leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government have endorsed the incumbent lawmaker for a third term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement made available to journalists, Adams described the purported endorsement as misleading and unfounded, urging party members and the general public to disregard what he termed “mere speculation.”

He stressed that no official endorsement has been made by the party leadership, particularly at the state level, noting that Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier assured that all interested stakeholders would be given a fair and open platform for consultation across Oyo South.

According to Adams, “It is important to state categorically that no candidate has been endorsed for Ibadan North Constituency II. His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, has consistently maintained that there will be wide consultations with stakeholders including the aspirants before any consensus decision is reached in line with the 2026 Electoral Act.”

Questioning the logic behind the alleged endorsement, Adams asked why such a move would be limited to only one constituency while other elective positions remain open and undecided.

“Why single out Ibadan North Constituency II for endorsement while other tickets are yet to be addressed? This clearly raises questions and further confirms that the claims are not credible,” he added.

The aspirant further expressed confidence and total loyalty to the principle, policies and leadership style of Governor Makinde, describing him as a fair-minded leader who prioritizes inclusiveness and due process.

He called on his supporters to remain calm and focused, assuring them that the party’s internal processes would be transparent and equitable.

“I urge all my supporters and well-wishers to stay resolute and ignore distractions. Governor Makinde is a leader who listens to all and will not be biased in handling party affairs,” Adams stated.

The development comes amid growing political activities within the PDP in Oyo State as aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
