According to Ayodamope, the first year of Hon. Oyekunle’s representation has been marked by efforts to address community needs, improve local infrastructure, expand access to social support, and create opportunities for residents across the constituency.

Infrastructure and Community Development

These interventions are aimed at improving public lighting, supporting access to clean water, and addressing infrastructure challenges affecting residents of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

The streetlight initiative has covered multiple communities across the constituency’s 12 wards, while borehole projects have been undertaken in selected locations to improve access to water for households and other community users.

Road reconstruction efforts, including the Atenda–Alawada Road project, also feature among the infrastructure developments being pursued during the period.

Legislative Representation and Employment Opportunities

Ayodamope also drew attention to legislative initiatives sponsored by Hon. Oyekunle, including proposals relating to the establishment of a Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery and a Federal Skills Acquisition institution in Ibadan North.

If realised, these institutions could expand access to education, vocational training, and skills development for young people and other residents.

The lawmaker has also facilitated employment-related opportunities and maintained a network of legislative aides across the constituency as part of his engagement with constituents and grassroots communities.

Healthcare and Social Support

Healthcare and social welfare have also featured among the areas of focus highlighted by Ayodamope.

Through collaboration with the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency, Hon. Oyekunle has supported health insurance enrolment initiatives for constituents, including a programme targeting pregnant women to help improve access to healthcare services.

His constituency activities have also included food palliative distributions and other forms of assistance aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and community groups.

Youth Development and Sports

In recognition of the role of young people in community development, youth engagement and sports have formed part of the activities associated with the lawmaker’s representation.

The Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON 5-A-Side Football Competition, which commenced in October 2026 and is scheduled to culminate in January 2027, is one of the initiatives designed to promote sporting participation, encourage young talent, and strengthen community relationships.

The One Day House of Representatives Member initiative has also provided a platform for young people to engage with legislative processes and demonstrate their knowledge of governance and public service.

A Call for Sustained Development

Commenting on the one-year milestone, Ayodamope noted that effective representation should be assessed not only through legislative activities but also through responsiveness to constituents, engagement with communities, and efforts to address everyday challenges.

Ayodamope emphasised the importance of sustaining ongoing projects, ensuring the quality of completed interventions, and extending developmental opportunities to communities across all 12 wards of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

The statement also underscored the need for continued collaboration among elected representatives, community leaders, residents, and relevant government institutions to promote inclusive development.

Looking Ahead

As Hon. Fola Oyekunle DON continues his legislative journey, the coming months will provide further opportunities to assess the progress of ongoing projects and the extent to which announced initiatives translate into lasting benefits for constituents.

For Ayodamope, the one-year milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on the activities undertaken so far while encouraging sustained attention to infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth development, and community welfare.

The ultimate measure of representation, the statement noted, lies in the tangible impact of public service on the lives of the people and the commitment to ensuring that the needs of constituents remain central to governance.
