“Gov. Makinde Has Again Shown Visionary Leadership” — Oyekunle Hails Appointment of Oba Ladoja as Oyo Council of Obas Chairman
The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN, has commended the Oyo State Government on the recent announcement of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.
In a statement released on Thursday, Hon. Oyekunle described the appointment of the former Governor of Oyo State and the Olubadan of Ibadanland as well-deserved, noting that Oba Ladoja’s wealth of experience, wisdom, and deep understanding of governance would add immense value to the council and the traditional institution in the state.
According to the lawmaker, the revival of the Oyo State Council of Obas, which had been inactive for several years, is another clear demonstration of Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to strengthening institutions and preserving the cultural heritage of the state.
“By reviving the Council of Obas and appointing a respected statesman like Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as chairman, Governor Makinde has once again set the pace in inclusive and forward-looking governance,” Oyekunle stated.
He further praised Governor Makinde for recognizing the critical role traditional rulers play in grassroots development, peacebuilding, and community engagement, adding that the reactivation of the council would foster better collaboration between the government and traditional institutions.
Hon. Oyekunle expressed confidence that under Oba Ladoja’s leadership, the council would serve as a strong advisory body to the state government while promoting unity, stability, and cultural pride across Oyo State.
The federal lawmaker urged stakeholders, traditional rulers, and residents of the state to support the council and the Makinde-led administration in its drive to deepen good governance and sustainable development.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to working with both the state government and traditional institutions to advance the interests of Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Oyo State at large.
