Also confirming on his official X handle, the Governor posted;

“No Cause for Alarm, I remain in PDP

Monumental Legacy

Over the last few hours, I have been inundated with calls regarding rumors of a possible defection. I want to assure the good people of Osun State and Nigerians at large; I remain a loyal member, and the leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State.

My focus remains on delivering good governance and fulfilling our 5-point agenda for Osun people. Please disregard the fake news and continue to support our mission for a better Osun State” He stated.

Osun State chapter of the PDP had earlier dismissed claims that Governor Ademola Adeleke was involved in any political coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in Osogbo on Tuesday, the Osun PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, affirmed that Governor Adeleke remains fully committed to PDP and is not part of any coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

This clarification follows reports that Atiku, a former presidential candidate of the PDP, has formed a new coalition under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to challenge the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections. Bisi also added that the party in Osun State remained united and committed to its goals under the current leadership and had no interest in joining any political alliance or coalition.
