2027: Gboye Ibo’s Son, Tosin Makanjuola (Amot), Joins Ibadan North II Race
In what many observers have described as a bold step toward purposeful representation, Asiwaju Makanjuola Oluwatosin Taofeek (AMOT) has formally declared his intention to contest for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat representing Ibadan North Constituency II.

With a message anchored on inclusion, growth, and people-centered governance, Tosin Gboye’s declaration signals the emergence of a new voice committed to redefining leadership at the grassroots. His vision of “a better Ibadan North where everyone, young and old, has opportunities to thrive” resonates strongly with the aspirations of constituents seeking responsive and impactful representation.
Beyond his personal ambition, Tosin Gboye’s political journey is deeply rooted in a legacy of service and loyalty. He is the son of the late Alh.Adegboyega Abdulwasiu Makanjuola aka ‘Gboye Ibo’ a respected chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, known for his steadfast loyalty and dedication to the party and its leadership style, including his alignment with Governor Seyi Makinde. The late Gboye, who served in key political capacities including as a former secretary of Ibadan North Local Government, was widely regarded as a principled and dependable figure in Oyo politics.

However, despite his years of commitment and sacrifice, the family of the late political stalwart has continued to express concerns over the lack of adequate recognition following his passing.
It is within this context that Tosin Gboye’s aspiration takes on deeper meaning, not just as a quest for political office, but as a continuation of a legacy built on service, loyalty, and sacrifice. His aspiration represents both a generational shift and an opportunity to restore faith in a system where dedication should be acknowledged and rewarded.

As the race for Ibadan North Constituency II begins to take shape, many will be watching closely to see how Tosin Gboye message of inclusion, youth empowerment, and economic growth resonates with the people. For now, his declaration stands as a statement of intent, and perhaps, a reminder that true leadership is not only inherited but demonstrated.
