This stern warning comes amidst growing concerns over the state of Nigeria’s infrastructure. As the Minister of Works, Umahi’s role is crucial in addressing the country’s pressing road maintenance and construction needs.
David Umahi, a seasoned politician, was appointed Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023 Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023. Despite his experience, Umahi’s tenure as Works Minister has been marred by criticism.
Oseni’s outburst highlights the need for accountability and effective service delivery in Nigeria’s infrastructure development. As the Chair of the House Committee on FERMA, Oseni has been working closely with the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to improve road maintenance services.
The partnership between FERMA and the House Committee aims to enhance service delivery, address funding challenges, and promote quality control. However, with Umahi’s leadership under scrutiny, it remains to be seen how the Ministry of Works will respond to these concerns.
