It will be recalled that Mr. Olakunle Ogunfemi, the APC Chairman of Ward 12, Apata in Ibadan South-West Local Government while praising Oyo South senator, Sarafadeen Alli for donating the sum of N500,000, for the repair of a community transformer at Apata, in Ibadan reportedly said, the senator rescued the community from darkness after a plea to the PDP federal lawmaker
Odidi-Omo was turned them down because they didn’t vote for him in the community

Odidi-Omo however vehemently refuted the allegation, saying, the APC chairman did not only want to gain unnecessary popularity for his senator and party, but he was also determined to use pettiness to cajole the people of the constituency.

Monumental Legacy

He categorically denied any bias, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to treating all constituents with fairness and equity, irrespective of their political affiliations

The lawmaker said, as an elected officer, supporting the community within the constituency is laudable as done by the senator but making an effort to downplay the unrelenting effort of another elective representative in the constituency is petty and ridiculous, said himself ( Odidi-Omo ) has held forth for the people of Ibadan Southwest/Northwest since APC and last federal lawmaker, jeopardized many opportunities meant for the constituent and their hope on the air.

” It is a pity that APC still playing petty politics, by now, what is important is to watch out for promise deliveries by elected officers not politicking.

” It is laudable that, an elected officer supports his constituents but ridiculous to use opposition to gain cheap popularity.

” I was notified how one of the APC local chairmen lied against me that, I turned down a community request because they didn’t vote for me, anyway this is not their first time, they have been doing such, all they are after is to bring me down with pettiness but, they can. Even, after they knew and agreed that the last federal lawmaker of the constituency failed to deliver all they wanted was to stale the peace and development of the constituency with
petty politics

” let me make a clarity. I had never at a point turned down any request made from any community. I went to all the communities during the electioneering, and they all promised to vote for me and they did, I won the election with votes from the majority so, I would be an ingrate to say some sections did not vote for me.

Against the lie from the APC chairman,
the only community that made a complaint about the transformer was
Egbetedo community said their transformer was faulty and beholds, I provided a brand new 500KVA Transformer for them.

“I would like to implore the people of the Southwest/Northwest constituency not to get distracted with unhealthy politicking from political jobbers, it is their right to demand for dividend of democracy and it is my responsibility to deliver to their doorsteps”, Odidi Omo stated.

The lawmaker thereafter expressed confidence in the trust placed in his representation and urged constituents to focus on the tangible initiatives underway for the betterment of Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency.

As the federal representative clarifies his position, the completion of the ICT Center and the targeted distribution of palliatives stand as evidence of his comprehensive commitment to the welfare and development of the constituency, aiming to foster a more informed and united constituency.
