Smart Kids Literacy Foundation Kicks Off 2025 Bonny Teachers Conference with Training on Innovative Teaching
A non-governmental organisation, Smart Kids Literacy Foundation, has started training of teachers for it’s 2025 Bonny teachers conference.

A statement by the Executive Director of the foundation, Deborah Mogho, stated that the two-day professional development programme was aimed at empowering teachers and transforming classrooms across Bonny Island and beyond.
The statement added that the conference, themed, ‘Teaching with Impact: Empowering Teachers, Inspiring Students,’ started on Friday at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Auditorium, Bonny and will end today (Saturday).

According to Mogho, the conference is part of her Western Union Global Fellowship Basecamp Project, designed to create community-based solutions that drive social impact.
Mogho disclosed that the event focused on improving teacher wellbeing, promoting innovative teaching methods, and preparing educators for the evolving demands of modern classrooms.

“A wholesome teacher raises a wholesome child. But when a teacher is overwhelmed, under-resourced, or uninspired, the classroom suffers.
“This conference is our way of investing in the hearts and hands that shape the future—our teachers. If we want inspired students, we must first empower the teachers who lead them every day,” Mogho said.

She added that the initiative would equip teachers with practical tools for personal growth, mental health, classroom innovation, technology integration, and financial empowerment.
