The People’s Democratic Party leaders of Ward VI, Ibadan North local government have reacted to the alleged manipulation of the councillorship ticket leveled against them by one of the aspirants.
It will be recalled, that, the current elected Ward VI counselor, Hon. Hamisu Nafiu Dodo had earlier accused some PDP leaders in his ward of manipulating the counselor’s results and imposed one of their stooges as a candidate for the party.
In their joint reaction, the party leaders said, the candidate picked, Alhaji Ibrahim Faira emerged as a candidate after the majority of the aspirant stepped down from him.
According to the leaders in a press statement made available with documents to pressmen at Sabo area in Ibadan, the leaders urged Nafiu Dodo to stop chasing shadows as he has no political weather to match the emerged candidate.
” We the leaders of Ward VI of People’s Democratic Party in Ibadan North local government wish to implore Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo PDP, and the general public to disregard any statement that has emanated or emanating from one of the Ward councillorship aspirants, Hon. Hamisu Nafiu concerning the last
councillorship election primary in our Ward.
Aside that being surprised by Hon. Dodo crocodile’s tears, we the party leaders also felt embarrassed by his claim that he deserved special attention among all the aspirants.
” To set the record straight, the emerged candidate, Alhaji Faira emerged through consensus and all other aspirants except Dodo agreed with the arrangement.
” We believed in due process of the party and at all times uphold the decision of the majority, we have all available letters and documents that back the emergence of the selected candidate.
” In conclusion, we will like to advise Hon. Dodo, to accept the defeat honorary as others accepted for him in 2019 when he emerged through the same process as a consensus candidate.
” Moreoso will use this channel to notify Hon. Dodo, and to also find a way to clarify his name on the allegations of refusal to pay party levy fee for over two years since assuming office and the anti-party activities leveled against him at the last general election.
