Prioritize The Need To Always Pay Attention To Your Health~ Oyo LGSC Urges LG Workers
Workers in the Local Government Service of Oyo State having one form of health challenge or the other have have been urged to consult medical Doctors promptly and when the need be, apply for sick leave to attend to their health needs before such sickness become critical.
The Chairman,Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Dr.Aderemi Ayodele gave the charge while reviewing on going verification exercise for local government personnel across Oyo State.
He said the physical verification exercise which has so far been carried out in 18 local governments have revealed some cases of great concerns to the Commission whereby some critically sick staff were brought for the verification exercise which he said was uncalled-for.
Dr Ayodele stated that such unfortunate situation wouldn’t have arisen if the Commission had earlier been notified officially before the exercise.
Explaining the importance of obtaining leave,Dr Ayodele stated that the provision of the Staff Regulations is very explicit about it therefore, the affected officers will officially be covered during the stipulated periods they are absent from duty and only medical report from qualified public health practitioners would be required for for purpose of documentation.
The Commission Chairman, therefore, stressed the need to follow proper administrative procedures in order to enable the Commission ascertain the whereabout of every local government employees during official working hours.
While Dr Ayodele empathized with all the critically ill staff, he prayed for their quick recovery and enjoined all Heads of Local Government Administration to ensure that all Officers at their various local governments comply with the extant service rules and regulations.
