PRESIDENTIAL/NASS ELECTION: Makinde Casts Vote, Says Democracy Has Come To Stay In Nigeria
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has voted in the ongoing presidential and National Assembly election.
Makinde, who voted at Abayomi, ward 11, unit 001, Ibadan North East Local Government, commended INEC for the exercise, noting that the process has been relatively peaceful and orderly.
The Governor arrived his polling unit, in company of his wife, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde at about 10:10 a.m and voted at exactly 10:15 a.m.
Addressing journalists shortly after casting his ballots, Makinde who looked relaxed and confident urged voters to exercise their civic responsibilities by voting for preferred candidates of their choices.
Asked what his view about the voting process is Makinde said, “Voters should be patient to exercise their civil responsibilities. People are conducting themselves very well and I think democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.”
