A day of celebration and deep appreciation reverberated through Ibadan on Thursday, January 2nd, as Deaconess Sola Alphonso marked her 70th birthday with a remarkable gathering at the Tafo Arena Event Center, located at WAEC Junction, Ijokodo, Ibadan. The event, a grand spectacle, saw a diverse congregation of political figures, business magnates, and community leaders come together in tribute to a woman who has profoundly influenced her community and beyond.

Deaconess Sola Alphonso, the wife of the late political icon and elder statesman from Oyo State, and the mother of O.T. Alphonso, a prominent figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was showered with heartfelt praises and admiration on this significant milestone. This event brought together a distinguished ensemble of personalities, honoring the 70-year journey of a woman whose legacy extends across all spheres of life.

The vibrant celebration was graced by a number of influential figures from both the political and business worlds. Notable guests among the political class included the PDP State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; Hon. Olufunke Comfort and Hon. Babajide Gabriel, representing Ibadan North state Constituency 1&2; the PDP State Youth Leader, Hon. Michael Ogunsina; Personal Assistants to Governor Seyi Makinde on Politics, Hon. Deji Ola, and Hon. Ogunbowale, SA Communications and SA Ibadan North Federal Constituency; and Hon. Julian, who is also the PDP Woman Leader for Ibadan North Local Government.
