Hon. Abiola Afeez Adewoyin the special assistant on works and transportation in Ibadan North Local Government has empowered over 20 women and artisans in ward 111 of Ibadan North Local Government area by providing them financial support.
The beneficiaries, drawn from across all the zones that make up Ward 111, received cash sums each to boost their small-scale businesses.
While disbursing the grants, Abiola said the initiative was part of his pledge to improve the less-privileged in the council and ensure they become self-reliant.
Abiola said the empowerment of youths and women remained one of his topmost priorities, promising to extend it to other wards.
He said the gesture was to complement the gestures of Governor Makinde’s administration towards eradicating poverty and improving the people’s socio-economic development.
