PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu at Ibadan Convention Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the expulsion of several prominent members, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and former National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu.

The decision was disclosed on Saturday during the party’s national convention taking place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Tensions had been building within the PDP in recent months, with senior members accusing some high-profile figures of actions allegedly deemed harmful to the party’s cohesion and electoral fortunes.

During the convention, the motion for the expulsion of the affected members was formally moved by Chief Olabode George, a former National Vice Chairman of the party representing the South.

George, addressing delegates, said the move was necessary to safeguard the integrity of the PDP and reposition it for future political challenges.

His motion called for decisive action against individuals he described as working at cross-purposes with the party’s ideals and collective interests.

Following his presentation, Hon. Samaila Buga, Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi State, rose to second the motion, reinforcing support for the disciplinary measure.

The stadium reportedly received the motion with mixed reactions, reflecting ongoing divisions within the party over how to handle internal dissent and high-profile defections.
