Oyo State PDP Disciplinary Panel Resolution On Saki East Local Government Political Functionaries

The Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Panel convened on Wednesday 19th March 2025 at the State Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan, to review critical issues concerning political functionaries in Saki East Local Government. The meeting was thorough, unbiased, and strictly focused on upholding the discipline and integrity of the party.

Panel Findings

After extensive deliberations, the panel, chaired by Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, established the following:

1. Engagement in Anti-Party Activities – The suspended Chairman of Saki East Local Government, Hon. Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel, failed to support or attend the general meeting of the PDP in Saki East and further instructed other political functionaries to do the same. His actions were deemed as clear anti-party activities.

2. Non-Remittance of Party Dues – The Chairman failed to remit statutory party dues to the leadership of the party, violating financial obligations expected of all party members.

3. Gross Misconduct and High-Handedness – The Chairman was found guilty of gross misconduct and high-handedness towards the leadership and structure of the PDP in Saki East Local Government.

 

Panel Recommendations

In line with the disciplinary framework of the party, the panel recommended the following resolutions:

1. Hon. Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel is hereby suspended for six (6) months and shall cease to act or operate as the elected Chairman of Saki East Local Government during this period.

2. His activities shall be placed under strict observation and scrutiny throughout the period of suspension.

3. He must immediately remit all outstanding party dues to the PDP in Saki East Local Government within one week.

4. The Vice Chairman and other political functionaries who failed to attend the general meeting of the party on February 19, 2025, must submit individual written apologies to both the State and Local Government leadership of the PDP within 72 hours.

5. The Vice Chairman and all concerned political functionaries must settle all outstanding party dues owed since the commencement of their administration.

 

Commendation and Party Stand on Discipline

The Oyo State PDP commends the Oyo State House of Assembly for their collaboration with the party and their proactive approach in suspending Hon. Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel as the Chairman of Saki East Local Government.

Furthermore, the party reiterates that the individual written apology letters from the affected functionaries should be addressed to the Oyo State PDP Chairman within 72 hours.
