The Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo led a task force to several sites in Oyo State, ordering the immediate stoppage of construction projects lacking approval from the ministry.
The affected sites include Jonku market area, former dumping ground in Orita Aperin, opposite Salem chemist, bus stop gate, Araromi market, along Agodi correctional center, and Ekiti Garage inside spare parts market.

Mr. Akin-Funmilayo declared that henceforth, any contractor, investor, or project manager found working on a site without approval would face law enforcement action. This directive is part of the state government’s efforts to maintain order and protect lives and properties.
The commissioner assured the public that the government would provide enlightenment campaigns to inform citizens about the importance of obtaining necessary approvals before embarking on development projects.

This move is in line with Governor Seyi Makinde ‘s vision for the state’s urban development and reinforces the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.
