Oyo State 2027 Governorship Race: Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi Drops Aspiration
Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Chairman and CEO of Ilaji Sports and Resorts, has announced his withdrawal from the Oyo State 2027 governorship race.
Sanusi cited frustration with the current political climate in Oyo State, where many officials prioritize personal gains over the state’s welfare. “It is unfortunate that many of our civil servants, public officials, and even political appointees are focused more on personal gains than the welfare of the state,” he stated.
His decision was made after careful consideration and consultations with his father, Alhaji Ganiyu Oladosu Sanusi. Sanusi emphasized that participating in the current political environment would compromise his commitment to selfless service.
Despite stepping away from politics, Sanusi reaffirmed his dedication to humanitarian efforts, focusing on education, sports, and community development initiatives. He urged his supporters to direct their support towards identifying a truly competent candidate who can earnestly serve the interests of Oyo State.
Sanusi’s legacy, including impactful initiatives like the JDS Football League and contributions to Oyo State’s youth empowerment, will continue to benefit the state. His withdrawal has sparked mixed reactions from his supporters, who had rallied around him with hopes of progressive leadership.
