Oyo PDP Youth Leaders Reaffirm Loyalty to Governor Makinde, Pledge Massive Mobilization Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Youth Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and restated their commitment to ensuring a resounding victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
This resolution was reached at the end of a meeting held on Wednesday, 30th October 2025, at the PDP State Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan. The meeting was presided over by the State Youth Leader, Comrade Lekan Bello, and attended by the 33 Local Government Youth Leaders and the three Senatorial Youth Leaders.
Also present were the State Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, the Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, and the State Secretary, Hon. Oyelami Oyeyemi Joel, who jointly urged the youth leaders to remain united, focused, and committed to the progress of the party.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the youth leaders unanimously reaffirmed their total loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the PDP, pledging to continue supporting the Governor’s vision of a prosperous and inclusive Oyo State.
> “We are poised, determined, and resolute in our commitment to deliver Oyo State to the PDP in the 2027 elections,” the communique read in part.
The youth leaders expressed profound gratitude to Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership and for creating platforms for youth inclusion in governance, describing his administration as “a beacon of hope and progress.”
They also commended the Governor for his remarkable achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development, noting that his people-oriented governance model has transformed Oyo State into a model for good governance in Nigeria.
A vote of confidence was unanimously passed on Governor Makinde for his “transparent leadership, outstanding performance, and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment.”
Reaffirming their readiness for the forthcoming elections, the youth leaders pledged to embark on massive mobilization and sensitization campaigns across all 33 local government areas to strengthen the PDP’s grassroots presence and consolidate public confidence ahead of 2027.
“As the heartbeat of the party, we will continue to engage, sensitize, and mobilize the people to sustain the trust and confidence reposed in the PDP,” the statement added.
The communique also emphasized the importance of unity and steadfastness among the youth, encouraging members to remain focused and resilient despite challenges, echoing Nelson Mandela’s words: “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
In his closing remarks, the State Youth Leader, Comrade Lekan Bello, appreciated the senatorial and local government youth leaders for their loyalty, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the continued growth and success of the PDP in Oyo State.
