Oyo LGSC Holds Interfaith Service, Urges Workers To Imbibe Fairness On Duty

The local government workers across local government Councils in Oyo State have been urged to be guided by the rules and regulations of the service and discharge their duties with fear of God.

The chairman Oyo State Local Government Service Commission,Dr. Aderemi Ayodele made the charge during the new year inter- faith prayer Session organized by the Commission.

At the event,which was held at the Secretariat, Ibadan, prayers were offered both in Christianity and Islamic ways for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to sustain and further accomplish greater landmarks in the new year.

Addressing members of staff of the Commission,Dr Aderemi Ayodele expressed appreciation to God almighty and thank Governor Seyi Makinde for singular opportunity to be part of the success story of the current administration which he said has made significant impact in the lives of workers and the civil/public service.

Monumental Legacy

The Commission Boss noted that the kind disposition of Governor Makinde to matters affecting workers,has made the job of the Commission less combasome, giving the Commission leverage to make significant progress since inception of the administration.

Giving inghts into some of the administrative accomplishments in the past years,Dr Ayodele revealed that the commission was adjudged the best in the South West Zone and second best in the whole federation.
He further added that with the clearance of outstanding promotion arrears of eligible officers,from 2017-2022,Oyo State has once again set the pace by becoming the only State in the federation where workers would earn their promotions as and when due. In addition,he stated further that the construction of the Ultra Modern Office Complex for the Commission with 300 Seater Auditorium Staff Training School was the greatest landmark.

These feats were achievable, because of the unwavering support of the state government under the able leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, in on hand, and the dedication to duties of the Staff of the Commission,in the other hand,Dr Ayodele said.

” Considering the unwavering commitment of the current administration to the workers welfare in Oyo State,excellent service delivery should be the hallmarks of every civil/public servant,on no account should you be indolent or get involved in any act capable of bringing disripute to the service, indeed, to the administration, because to whom much is given, much is expected”

Earlier,in their separate speeches at the event, other Board members of the Commission which included;Alh. Olalomi Amole,Alh.Taiwo Oke and Mrs Christiana Arewa further appealed to workers to always reciprocate the kind gesture of the state government by rededicating themselves to their duties.

 

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Deacon Taiwo Olafimihan Adewale appreciated the resilient efforts of the staff for meeting up with the set goals of the Commission in the past year, with particularly reference to successful conduct of two major promotion exercises which he said was commendable.He, however,reiterated the need for the Commission’s Staff, indeed,all local government staff to seek for more knowledge to enhance their performances and urged them to come up with novel ideas that can add value to the service.

The Permanent Secretary emphasised that the Commission would not compromise it’s resolve to enhance quality service delivery and that the ongoing rebranding of the service is in tandem with the Omituntun 2.0 agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde’s He,therefore, appealed to the Commission Staff, and indeed,all local government staff to braze up for the change,assuring that outstanding staff will always be recognized and honoured by the Commission

The event which was well attended by Board members, Management and all staff was rounded up with presentation of merit awards to two outstanding staff of the Commission; Mrs Victoria Omoyeni and Mr Rahman Muideen.
