Oyo ALGON Chairman, Sanda, Honored As ‘Pacesetter Grassroots Leader Of The Year’ •Dedicates Award To Makinde

On Thursday 28th December 2023, the Directorate of the Pacesetter Online Magazine organized a “Thank You Reception” to honor personalities from different walks of life, having Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele specially recognized as the “Grassroots Leader of the Year Award” for his immense contribution and support towards the grassroots and public service in the state.

The event, which was held at the NUJ building in Iyanganku, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, was graced by eminent dignitaries including serving senators, members of the federal and state houses of assembly, local government chairmen, and the development and civil society community.

They include the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Sarafadeen Ali, and Dr. Nureni Akanmbi (Subeb Chairman), Hon. Ramata Aderemi Debo (RAD), Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Lekan Abiola, House of Assembly member representing Akinyele Constituency 1, Oluyole PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru (Lagelu PDP Chairmanship Candidate), hon. Wole Akinleye, akinyele PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Delad, and among others.

Presenting the award of Excellence of the Pacesetter Grassroots Leadership Award to the Oyo state ALGON chairman, Hon. Sanda Oyekunle Sikiru, acknowledging his immense efforts towards the welfare of the masses, through public service, Alli said the likes of Sanda are very much needed in the society to further foster developmental strides and growth.

The prestigious Pacesetter Grassroots Personality of the Year Award, according to the organizers, is to show and appreciate individuals, and corporate organizations who have in one way or the other of contributed immensely to society through government institutions, education, social engagement, health, philanthropy gestures, and many more.

In his response, Sanda said he was overwhelmed by the recognition and support shown towards his service, stating that all dedication is accorded to His Excellency Gov. Seyi Makinde for making governance easy and accommodating.

He said the grassroots is the majority component of the state, with the governor’s support local government chairmen in the state have been able to drive and key into the Sustainable Development Goals of the Omititun 2.0 agenda.
