Oyekunle DoN Celebrates Elder Statesman Ismaila Ashipa Osuolale at 71, Hails Him as a Pillar of Wisdom and Guiding Light
The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has joined family, associates, and admirers across Oyo State to celebrate the iconic elder statesman and respected political leader, Ismaila Ashipa Osuolale, on the occasion of his 71st birthday anniversary.
In a heartfelt congratulatory message, Hon. Oyekunle described Baba Ashipa as “a father, an ever-reliable compass, and one of the most trusted guardians of progressive politics in Ibadanland.”
He noted that Baba Ashipa’s unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and community development has for decades set him apart as a stabilising force whose counsel has shaped leaders across generations.
“Baba Ashipa is one of the rare elders whose life is a classroom. His words carry depth, his actions reflect integrity, and his leadership style continues to inspire those of us entrusted with public office. Personally, he is a father figure and a go-to leader whose support and guidance have been instrumental to my journey,” Oyekunle said.
The lawmaker further praised the septuagenarian for consistently championing the empowerment of young people, noting that Baba Ashipa has always believed that a society grows stronger when its youths are well-positioned for leadership and productivity.
“Baba’s deliberate investment in youth development remains unmatched. His encouragement is one of the reasons many young leaders—my humble self included—have the boldness to step forward and serve. We will always appreciate him,” he added.
Oyekunle celebrated Ashipa’s 71 years as “a life of courage, compassion, and uncommon patriotism,” stating that the milestone is a reminder of a legacy built on humility, honesty, and the relentless pursuit of the common good.
He prayed that God grants the elder statesman longer life, renewed strength, and the continued grace to mentor and uplift the next generation of leaders.
