Over 400 APC, Accord Members Join APM in Oorelope as Sarafina Leads Mass Defection

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has recorded a major grassroots breakthrough in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, as over 400 members of the APC, Accord Party and other political parties defected to the APM in a major show of political realignment.

The mass defection was spearheaded by Hon. Wahab Sarafadeen, popularly known as Sarafina, a prominent grassroots politician and principal team leader who coordinated the mobilisation of the defectors across various political structures.

 

Sarafina, who enjoys a strong following among youths in the area, successfully brought together members from different political parties and led them into the APM fold, further strengthening the party’s grassroots structure in Oorelope.

Welcoming the new members, Hon. Sarafadeen Alani congratulated the defectors on their decision, assuring them that they had made the right political choice and would have no cause to regret joining the APM.

Also congratulating the Oorelope APM structure, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole (Wolekanle) commended the local government leadership and the various mobilisation teams for the development, describing the influx of new members as a reflection of the party’s growing grassroots appeal.

 

The APM House of Representatives candidate for Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency, Hon. Abiodun Oni, formally welcomed the new members, assuring them of inclusion and meaningful participation in the party. He urged them to remain united and committed to strengthening the APM at the grassroots.

 

Similarly, Hon. Rauf Balogun, popularly known as BoBoo, a political leader from Ward 7, congratulated the new members and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their new political family.

 

The mobilisation was supported by ward team leaders including Tajudeen Muideen (Ward 1), Nurudeen Taye (Ward 2), Agoro Hassan Olatunbosun, former House of Assembly member (Ward 7), Oyebisi Fatai (Ward 8), and Isau Azizu Olakunle (Ward 9)

The leaders prayed for the new members, encouraged them to work collectively for the growth of the party and assured them of continued support as they settle into the APM.

 

The development marks a significant expansion of the APM’s grassroots network in Oorelope and underscores Sarafina’s growing influence as a grassroots political mobiliser in the local government.
