OTOPE Praises Makinde’s Landmark Iwo Road Bus Terminal: ‘A Symbol of Efficient Governance’

The Director-General, Oyo State Liaison Office (Abuja and Lagos), Dr. Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for the successful completion and commissioning of the Iwo Road Bus Terminal, describing it as a landmark achievement that underscores the governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural advancement and urban renewal.

In a statement issued through his Media Aide, Segun Akinlabi, Dr. Oladimeji noted that the newly commissioned terminal—one of the four modern bus terminals conceptualised under the Makinde administration’s transport reform initiative—has placed Oyo State on a higher pedestal of modernization and urban excellence.

He described the Iwo Road Bus Terminal as “the largest and most sophisticated transport hub in the Southwest region,” adding that its establishment demonstrates the governor’s foresight and people-centered approach to governance.

“Governor Makinde’s dedication to the development of world-class infrastructure is evident in this remarkable project. The Iwo Road Bus Terminal is not just a physical structure but a symbol of efficient governance, strategic planning, and economic transformation,” OTOPE stated.

Dr. Oladimeji further highlighted the socio-economic importance of the terminal, noting that it would ease traffic congestion, facilitate business operations, and enhance mobility within the Ibadan metropolis. He also emphasized that the project would create employment opportunities and contribute to the overall economic growth of the state.

According to him, the project exemplifies the governor’s vision of building a modern Oyo State where infrastructure development serves as a driver of prosperity and social progress.

“The Iwo Road Bus Terminal stands as a clear testament to the Makinde administration’s focus on sustainable development, safety, and public convenience. It is a project that reflects responsible leadership and long-term planning,” he added.

Dr. Oladimeji concluded by reaffirming his continuous support for the governor’s developmental initiatives and expressed optimism that Oyo State will continue to witness more transformative projects under Governor Makinde’s administration.
