In a landmark event, the administration of Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, celebrated academic excellence by rewarding students with scholarships and unique opportunities.
The highlight of the event was the recognition of Djebi Mark Mosinminloluwa, an SS2 student from Abadina College, who emerged as the winner of the Ibadan North Local Government Secondary Schools Quiz Competition. As a reward, Djebi was given the chance to serve as the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government for one day.
The council office was filled to capacity as principals, teachers, and education enthusiasts from various schools gathered to celebrate Mark and other participants of the quiz competition.
Hon. Olufade expressed his delight in hosting the celebration, thanking the teachers, principals, and parents for their roles in mentoring and supporting the students.
He encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence, noting that their selection to represent their schools was a significant achievement.
In his address, Hon. Olufade congratulated Djebi Mark Mosinminloluwa, describing the day as one the student would never forget.
He announced his commitment to sponsoring Mosinmiloluwa’s secondary and tertiary education and sought permission from Djebi’s parents to adopt him, which they gladly accepted.
The Chairman also pledged to cover the Senior Secondary School Examination fees for the remaining participants and offered them the chance to serve in various capacities within the local government for one day.
Hon. Wole Akinleye, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, also attended the event and praised Hon. Olufade for his dedication to fostering greatness.
He congratulated Djebi Mark Mosinmiloluwa and emphasized the positive impact of this experience on the student’s intellectual and psychological development.
During the event, Djebi Mark Mosinminloluwa was sworn in as the one-day Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government.
In his inaugural speech, Djebi Mark Mosinmiloluwa expressed gratitude to his parents, teachers, and Hon. Olufade for their support and mentorship.
He outlined ambitious plans for his one-day administration, focusing on educational and agricultural development, security, and welfare improvements.
