Ona Ara NUT, Hairdressers’ Association, Senior Citizens, Others Join OTOPE Solidarity Walk for GSM

In a vibrant show of unity and political commitment, members of various professional and community groups in Ona Ara Local Government on Saturday joined the OTOPE Solidarity Walk in support of Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, on Saturday August 9, 2025.

The event which toke place after Otope Political Movement finished their 2nd Quarter of the year General meeting drew large crowds from Olunloyo to Olorunsogo and back, featured an impressive turnout of political leaders, trade associations, and grassroots organisations. Among the notable attendees were PDP leaders from both Egbeda and Ona Ara LGs, members of the Otope Political Movement, Senior Citizens’ Chairman Comrade Kola Olorunsogo, representative of the Nigerian Union of Tailors (NUT) Ojewale Hammed, Ona Ara PMS representative Akinlabi Wakili, Acomoran Ona Ara Chapter representative Ismaili Olalekan, and Maruwa Riders’ representative Babatunde Opeyemi, among other prominent personalities.

The solidarity walk was spearheaded by Dr. Temitope Oladimeji, President of the OTope Foundation and Director-General of the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja and Lagos. Dr. Oladimeji reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the political base for GSM, pledging to mobilise residents for the upcoming voters’ registration exercise to ensure maximum participation in future elections.

According to him, the walk was not just a show of political allegiance but also a reminder of the importance of civic responsibility. “We must all play our part in shaping the future of our state by ensuring every eligible citizen registers to vote and is ready to participate when the time comes,” he said.

The colourful rally, filled with chants, music, and solidarity messages, once again underscored the growing influence of the OTope Political Movement in grassroots mobilisation across Oyo State.
