The Association of Local Governments Of Nigeria, (ALGON) Oyo State Chapter, has urged the people of Oyo State to be confident and steadfast in the new year and hope for a better future for the state.
The local government chairmen stated this through their Chairman, Hon. Sanda Oyedele Sikiru, in his New Year message to Oyo state residents in which they affirmed that 2024 offers the citizens a new opportunity to aspire for the realization of the dream of a prosperous state.
Oyo ALGON, while praising the people of Oyo State for their resilience over the unavoidable hardship that emanated over the change of government in 2023, assured a better living in 2024.
According to Sanda, the state government, under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, is not relenting in providing succor to the suffering of the masses at the grassroots.
He added that efforts have been intensified with the SAfER packages which the people have been a major beneficiary.
“Oyo ALGON assures you that Governor Makinde’s administration remains fully committed to the progressive development and the consolidation of peace, unity, and democratic governance in Oyo state.
“Moreover, 2024 is an electioneering year, and we would like to encourage the people to come out en masse and vote for PDP chairmanship candidates, and councillorship candidates across the state at the local government polls” Sanda concluded.
