NAIRA SCARCITY: Protest Takes New Dimension In Ibadan As Commercial Drivers Storm Streets
There was pandemonium on Wednesday morning around Eleyele, Gbopa, Ologuneru, Apete, sango, Poly road, Mokola, and Iwo Road axis of Ibadan as transporters protested the scarcity of cash.
Witnesses at the scenes told newsmen that the transporters were obstructing the free flow of vehicular and pedestrian movements around the areas.
According to the witnesses, the transporters lamented over the nonavailability of cash, as well as the rejection of the old 200, 500, and 1,000 naira notes by passengers and some fueling stations.
Meanwhile, when our Correspondent contacted the Police public relations officer in Oyo state, Mr. Adewale Osifeso, said officers had been deployed to the scenes to restore order.
