Maulud: Sanda Urges Leaders to Embrace Prophet Muhammad’s Virtues of Compassion, Integrity

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele (Lajue), has felicitated the Muslim faithful across Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a goodwill message, Hon. Sanda described the Maulud celebration as an important period for reflection on the virtues exemplified by the Prophet, particularly compassion, humility, honesty, patience, integrity, and selfless service to humanity.

 

He noted that the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) remain a timeless example of responsible leadership and peaceful coexistence, stressing that true leadership must be anchored on truthfulness, justice, compassion for the less privileged, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

“As we celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), let us embrace his teachings of honesty, patience, tolerance, and selfless service in our daily dealings, both within our families and in society at large,” he said.

 

Hon. Sanda also called on Muslims and people of other faiths to use the occasion to strengthen unity, mutual respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic divides.

 

He emphasized that Ibadan and Oyo State’s long-standing tradition of religious harmony is a valuable heritage that must be preserved and strengthened.

 

The Egbeda Council Chairman further urged leaders at all levels of government to reflect on the virtues of justice, accountability, compassion, and service to the people, noting that leadership is a responsibility that demands integrity and dedication.

 

He wished the Muslim community a peaceful, meaningful, and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration, while praying for continued peace, unity, development, and prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria.
