Makinde Holds Fresh Briefing On Oyo Abduction, Gives Update On Aircraft Acquisition

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday held another press briefing on the recent kidnapping incident in Oriire Local Government Area, assuring residents that his administration remains committed to securing the safe return of the abducted teachers and pupils.

Speaking during the briefing, the governor said the state government, alongside security agencies, has continued to intensify efforts toward rescuing the victims and restoring calm to the affected community.
Makinde also addressed concerns surrounding the state government’s acquisition of two aircraft, explaining that the aircraft had already been purchased and are currently being assembled in Lagos.

According to the governor, the aircraft procurement forms part of his administration’s broader security strategy aimed at strengthening aerial surveillance, improving intelligence gathering, and supporting security operations across Oyo State.
He maintained that his government would continue to invest in security infrastructure and logistics to tackle criminal activities and safeguard lives and property across the state.
