LG POLL: Oyelese, Adurodekun, Otope Present As PDP Flags Off Campaign in Egbeda/Ona-Ara
In ensuring that the Party secures victory for all her candidates in the 33 local government councils and 351 wards in Oyo State, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in the State berthed the ship of her campaign gospel in Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency, where the party presented the flag to her chairmanship and vice chairmanship candidates for the forthcoming local government elections.
Elder Oyewole Oyelese, the co-chairman of the Governor’s Elders Council, welcomed the Party’s leadership to Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency. He also commended the massive turnout of party faithfuls at the campaign and implored them to replicate same on election day.
He assured Party members and the people of the federal constituency that the party parades the best candidates with proven records of excellence for the forthcoming local government elections.
In his address, the coordinator of the local government campaign in Ibadan less city and the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Hon. Segun Olayiwola commended the resilience of party members while assuring them that Governor Makinde has set a good precedence upon which all other candidates and office holders are building on.
He further emphasized that the party’s candidates in Egbeda/Ona-Ara are people of proven track records and not mere promise makers, who are known to alway deliver on their promises.
The campaign which was held at Wema garage, Egbeda, had in attendance prominent party from the federal constituency; Hon. Waheed Adurodekun, Rt. Hon. Festus Adegoke, Hon. Ezekiel Oladimeji Otope, Elder Wole Oyelese and Hon. Akeem Oke.
The candidates who received the Party’s nod in Egbeda local government area were Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda and his runningmate; Hon. Oladebo Ibrahim (Simple) while in Onaara local government: Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious and his co-runner, Hon. Oluwole Windapo.
Hon. Temitope Ezekiel, the Director General of Abuja Liaison office to the Governor charged the candidates to see themselves as being privileged to carry the party’s flags at the moment. He encouraged them to ensure the people enjoy the dividends of democracy during their terms in office.
The campaign, organized by the State Secretariat of the Party, was attended by members of the state executive committee; D.G election management committee, Alh. Wasiu Adeleke; the Oyo Central Chairman of the party, Hon. Muftau Ogunremi; the Financial Secretary of the party, Hon. Dayo Opatokun; the State youth leader and the Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Micheal Ogunsina; and Hon. Adelabu Aderemi Alaba and Hon. Lekan Alabi.
