He emphasized that Easter is not just a celebration, but a call to reflect on the enduring love of Christ who gave His life for humanity. According to him, “Let the love of Christ reflect in our actions — in how we treat our neighbors, uphold peace, and work towards a better society.”

Hon. Oyekunle further charged citizens to emulate Christ’s life of selflessness and to spread agape love not only during festive periods but as a way of life. He urged believers to remain steadfast in faith, foster unity, and continue to pray for the progress of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

Monumental Legacy

He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s unwavering commitment to peace, development, and religious tolerance in the state, describing the Governor as a true symbol of inclusive leadership.

“Easter reminds us that hope is never lost, even in the face of trials. As we celebrate, let us rededicate ourselves to the service of humanity, just as Christ served and laid down His life,” the statement concluded.

Hon. Oyekunle wished all Christians a joyous and peaceful Easter celebration, praying that the resurrection power of Christ would bring renewal, healing, and blessings to every home.
