Leadership Excellence: Barrister Lawal’s Stellar Performance as Acting Governor Delights Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has showered his Deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, with plaudits for his excellent performance in the acting capacity while he was on vacation.

Recall that Governor Makinde transmitted power to his Deputy to act on his behalf after proceeding on a four-week holiday.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the upgrade of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, the Governor said the Deputy Governor performed excellently well as acting Governor.

He disclosed that while he was on vacation, the Deputy Governor called him on a few occasions but didn’t take the call because he said the Acting Governor should use the power vested on him rather than reaching out to him, saying, “You have the power, it’s your headache”.

The Governor, however, commended those who supported the immediate Acting Governor while he was way, noting that he is impressed with his performance.

This will be the second time that Governor Makinde will be commending his deputy for his role in acting capacity.

Prior to the 2023 election, the Governor described Barr. Lawal as a loyal and dependable co-pilot.
